The problem

SnapAV was moving its website to a new code platform, and its information architecture needed to be more intuitive for professional AV installers and integrators.

My role

I was one of the designers on the project, working on the concept, the design, and the UX testing.

The approach

We combined card sorting, collaborative whiteboarding sessions, and heat mapping software. Heat maps tracked clicks and engagement to show the most-used features and the pain points. Card sorting revealed how users naturally group information — their mental models — so the structure could reflect their workflows and priorities. Whiteboarding sessions brought stakeholders together to brainstorm, test information flows, and map out user journeys and site architecture.

The result

An information framework that balanced user needs with business goals, giving SnapAV’s users a clearer, more efficient experience.
